About Bath

Bath is a city in Somerset, England most famous for its baths fed by three hot springs. It is situated 99 miles (159 km) west of Central London and 13 miles (21 km) south east of Bristol.

Bath is a spectacularly beautiful city which stands on the River Avon among the hills of Englanda EUROS TMs West Country. The coast at Weston-super-Mare or South Wales is also within easy reach.

Bath has an unusually high proportion of independent shops, giving the city a unique character and making it one of the most popular shopping destinations outside London. The city centre is well known for antiques and women's designer clothing. There are excellent commercial art galleries and many handmade craft shops and furniture stores.
Bath is fairly fanatical about food, so would-be chefs will find every pot, pan and gadget they could ever want within the city's stores, not to mention fine cheese shops, mouthwatering delicatessens and more.

During the 18th century, Bath became the leading centre of fashionable life in England. It was during this time that Bath's Theatre Royal was built, as well as architectural triumphs such as Royal Crescent, Lansdown Crescent, the Royal Crescent, The Circus and Pulteney Bridge.
